By Karl Champley

This is what we made from an empty crate:

Our inspiration for this first piece.

The amazing designer Katie Stout. Guess where her jewelry came from?

Laminating the walnut strips to make the solid shelf. Never a shortage of fine tools here at the workshop!

We did not have the luxury of hardware. So I made the sliding panels operate by recessing two channels into the walnut top & bottom rails.

The acrylic from the crate, cut out with a CNC machine. Three layers where used to make the top.

Proud to be paired up with Katie as this is just one result of her vision!

Beautiful walnut from the crate we used for the shelf and surround

A lousy photograph, however gives you an idea of the finished result - all from a crate :)
